We rely on donations from anyone who is having hardwood trees cut, or have suffered storm damage, or have un-used firewood. we do not cut standing trees. they must be on the ground. we prefer to have logs delivered to our site in n. yarmouth but also will pick up wood if needed. requirements:
Wood donated must be clean hardwood, free of rot and metal. Typical species include maple, oak, elm, ash, birch, cherry, walnut, apple, and beech. (deciduous or have leaves) We do not accept any softwoods such as pine, spruce, or hemlock. (conifers or have needles vs leaves)
Logs can be any length. Split wood, or stove length, will be up to 16 inches. If over 16 inches, we will certainly take it, but it must be separated from the under 16 inch.
Logs greater than 24 inch diameter may be refused.
If you are delivering to our work site, please contact us prior to delivering. We will ask you to unload the logs in a specific location based upon the size and type. CALL 207 747 2868 and follow the prompts.
If you want us to pick up the wood, please provide us the address, your cell phone, and any specifics. Photos are always helpful with the descriptions and can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
